Digbi Health to Present Real-World Data at ObesityWeek 2026 Showing Precision Biology Lifestyle Care Improves GLP-1 Weight Loss
Members on tirzepatide lost 18.4% of body weight at 12 months, matching pivotal-trial results and exceeding large real-world cohorts of patients on the drug plus one-size-fits-all care.
October 27, 2026 /Digbi News/ -- Digbi Health will present real-world evidence at ObesityWeek 2026, November 14–17 in Washington, D.C., showing that members enrolled in its Precision Biology™ Lifestyle Care lost more weight on GLP-1 medications than people on the same drugs who were not enrolled. The poster, "Real-World GLP-1 RA Weight Loss Approaches Trial Benchmarks in a Precision Food-as-Medicine Program," links pharmacy claims from 10 self-insured US employers to weight, meal, and glucose data collected in members' daily lives between 2022 and 2025.
The study
The analysis followed members on obesity-indication GLP-1s whose weights were captured on connected scales, and compared them with people on the same medications who never enrolled. Each member's nutrition and lifestyle plan was personalized to their genetics, gut microbiome, and glucose response, and meal quality was scored from photo-logged meals.
Findings
- Members on tirzepatide lost 18.4% of body weight at 12 months, within reach of the 20.9% reported in the SURMOUNT-1 pivotal trial at 72 weeks and ahead of large real-world cohorts, where one-year losses range from 12.4% to 16.5%.
- Enrolled members lost more weight every month than non-enrolled people on the same drugs.
- Every one-point rise in meal nutrient density was associated with two additional points of weight loss over three to twelve months.
The results are observational; enrollment was voluntary and residual confounding is possible. They describe associations and will need prospective testing.
Why it matters
Real-world GLP-1 weight loss usually trails the trials, because most patients receive the drug with generic lifestyle advice or none at all. The data suggest the gap closes when the lifestyle care is built on the member's own biology. For employers, that is the difference between a drug that pays back and one that does not: members who reach a working dose, stay on therapy, and keep the weight off.
"The drug is the same for everyone. The biology is not. When nutrition and lifestyle care are matched to a member's genetics, microbiome and glucose response, GLP-1 outcomes in the real world look like the trials."
